Information regarding needle size:

I receive a lot of emails regarding needle size and brand.  Please note that most all my patterns are knit up on small needles.  I list the needle size on each pattern description page.  I have listed the needle sizes below that I use most frequently, along with the mm size:

Size:

0 or 2 mm
2/0 or 00 or 1.75 mm
3/0 or 000 or 1.5 mm
4/0 or 0000 or 1.2 mm
5/0 or 00000 or 1 mm

Note:  2/0, 3/0, 4/0, 5/0 is just another way of writing out the zeros!  It does NOT mean size 2, 3, 4 or 5.

For sizes 3/0 (000 or 1.5 mm) I use Addi Turbo steel circular needles.  I find circular needles easier to hold in my hands and I do not have to worry about one of the needles dropping on me.  For sizes 4/0 (0000 or 1.2 mm and 5/0 or 00000 or 1 mm) I use Hiya Hiya steel circular needles.  There are other brands out there, I am just able to get these at one of my local yarn shops.
