PATTERN #177 – “Sweetheart” Short Cardigan in Slim MSD Size

 

Inspired from a pattern in a Cascade Elite Yarn booklet, I redesigned it with raglan sleeves and instead of bobbles, replaced them with beads.  It is the perfect sweater for a girl to wear for Valentine’s Day.  Easy ribbing on the bottom of the sleeves, body, front bands and neck edge, along with the raglan sleeves, make this an easy project.  The beadwork is really quite easy and adds so much to the front of the cardigan. You can knit it up in lots of color combinations or knit it in one color either with or without beads.  It can be worn for dressy and casual wear.  Designed to fit slim MSD ball jointed dolls such as Narae, Unoa, MiniFee, Volks, Planet doll, JIE Jaime Show, and vinyl dolls such as the Ellowyne Wilde series, Kish Chrysalis series, Dianna Effner’s Little Darling Doll Tonner's 14-inch Betsy McCall.  Lace beret pattern included.

 

Rating:  #2 – Intermediate.  You need to be able to read instructions, knit and purl, decrease stitches, and knit in beads.  Easy to read chart for bead placement is included.  Uses lace weight yarn on size 4/0 (0000 or 1.2 mm) needles with a small gauge of 16 sts per inch and 21 rows per inch in stockinette stitch.
